Questions About Team Members

Everything you need to know

What's the difference between team and direct access?

Team access means the member inherited project access through their team membership. Direct access means they were added individually. A member can have both—if so, they keep access even if removed from the team.

What are the four roles?

Agency Owner has full access to all project settings and billing. Manager handles project administration and team management. Developer can manage tasks and project content. Client has view-only access with commenting.

What happens when I remove a team from a project?

All members who accessed the project through that team lose access—unless they also have direct access. The system tracks access sources clearly so you know what will happen before you remove.

Can someone have both team and direct access?

Yes. A member can be part of a team assigned to the project AND have direct access. If you remove the team, they keep their direct access. The most permissive role between sources applies.

How fast do access changes take effect?

Instantly. When you add a member or team, they can access the project immediately. When you remove access, they lose it immediately. WebSocket pushes the change to their browser in real-time.

Can I see how someone got access?

Yes. Each member in the list shows their access source—either 'via Team' with a purple badge or 'direct' with a blue badge. You always know why someone has access.
