Common Questions
How does timezone auto-detection work?
During signup, GitScrum reads your browser's timezone setting (Intl.DateTimeFormat) and suggests it automatically. You can confirm or change it with one click.
Can different team members use different languages?
Yes. Each user selects their preferred language independently. A team can have members using English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French simultaneously.
What happens when I set a deadline?
Deadlines are stored in UTC. When any team member views that deadline, it's automatically converted to their local timezone. If you set 'Friday 5pm' in New York, a colleague in London sees 'Friday 10pm'.
Does time tracking respect timezones?
Absolutely. When you log time, it's recorded with your timezone context. Reports can display hours in any timezone for accurate billing.
Can I change my timezone later?
Yes. Go to your profile settings and select a new timezone. All existing and future dates will display in your new timezone immediately.
How do sprint dates work across timezones?
Sprint start and end dates are set by the sprint creator in their timezone and stored in UTC. Each team member sees these dates converted to their local time.
What date formats are supported?
Date formats follow browser locale settings. Americans see MM/DD/YYYY, Europeans see DD/MM/YYYY, etc. Fully automatic based on your system preferences.
Is the client portal localized too?
Yes. Clients can view the portal in any of our 4 supported languages, and all dates appear in their local timezone.
